20 Agatha Christie Quotes that Will Help You Solve Some of Life’s Mysteries
An icon in the world of mysteries, thrillers, and crime
novels, Agatha Christie is one of the best-selling authors of all time.
Agatha was destined to become a great writer. She enjoyed
writing and creating characters ever since she was a little girl but who would’ve
thought that only the Bible and Shakespeare would be more widely read than her
novels?
During her life time, Christie wrote 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections. Although murder mysteries were her forte, Christie was also noted for her romantic books and plays – including The Mousetrap (the world's longest running theatrical play in London).
But writing didn’t come easily to Christie. As a young
aspiring writer she produced a number of short stories that were all rejected
by various publishers and literary magazines.
In 1920 she finally published her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, which introduced
the iconic detective Hercule Poirot. Her other well-known character, Miss
Marple, was introduced in The Murder at
the Vicarage.
Nearly all of Agatha Christie’s works have been adapted into movies, TV shows, or plays, and most of them were a success both with critics and at the box office.
