The movie is about two friends who realize they have feelings for each other after a week of swapping houses across the country. This long-distance life trial sets up a wonderful romance between two adults who have been friends for longer than they can remember.

This heartwarming and simple storyline is precisely the type of escapism that many are craving. Lighthearted romantic comedies are only made better when paired with great movie stars such as Witherspoon and Kutcher. Kutcher also recently made an appearance on Netflix’s That 90’s Show, a spin-off of the original That 70’s Show where Kutcher and Kunis met and co-starred for years.

Witherspoon even kept Kunis in the loop while filming. “He’s so professional. He’s the funniest guy. I mean, such a goofball. We had so much fun, and every time he’d wear a funny outfit, I’d text Mila. I’d be like, ‘What is he wearing?’”

But outside of their fun-loving friendship, Kutcher developed his own connection with Witherspoon. In fact, he seemed to be quite starstruck about getting to work with the Legally Blonde star. “I got to be in scenes across from a genuine movie star. She’s such a movie star. It was so wonderful and fun and funny and light,” Kutcher said about his co-star, “There was never a dark day. There was never a day that everything went wrong. I got spoiled.”

Even with the humor laced throughout this situation, the core of it is deeper than we may initially think. Kutcher and Kunis have an honest and respectful marriage and Kutcher knows how things can be spun online.
