Mom Shamed For Taking Up Handicapped Parking Spot Has Perfect Response

An important reminder that not all disabilities are visible. An awful message on her windshieldWhile parked in a children's hospital parking lot, Emma Doherty rushed into an appointment with her son Bobby. When they returned, she saw something that truly upset her. There was a note on the windshield that said, "You lazy conning b-tch. You did not have a disabled person with you! These spaces are reserved for people who need them!!!"Her son is terminally illDoherty took to Facebook to set the record straight."To the person who put this on my car which I had put my disabled badge fully on show I'm not angry at your pure ignorance I'm actually upset with it. How dare you ever accuse anyone of not needing a disabled badge without knowing," she wrote in the post. "I wish you had the balls to say this to my face and I would of told you (even tho I don't need to explain myself to the likes of you) but id of happily said why I have a badge. I promise to get the stigma away from people with disabled badges who don't 'look disabled.'"Doherty explained that her son is a disabled person who is also terminally ill."I hope this gets shared and back to you and you will see my son is terminally ill he's had over 15 operations 3 open hearts, 2 stomach, lung and diaphragm and countless artery stenting operations and spent half his life on intensive care. He's had 2 strokes and was paralyzed, brain-damaged and has a spine and hip condition as well as a massive heart condition," she wrote.Doherty indicated that she'd left Bobby's wheelchair in the car and carried him because they were late for the appointment due to two previous appointments that same day. "But for your information not everyone who holds a blue badge needs to have a wheelchair!"Not all disabilities are visibleDoherty went on to explain that as a single mother with a disabled child, she's been through so much and doesn't usually get upset — but this broke her."NOT ALL DISABILITIES ARE VISIBLE and I hope you regret doing this and learn your lesson! I knew something would be said one day as every day I get looks and stares and see people whispering to each other about me and bobby walking from the car. Everyone needs to stop and think before acting I hardly ever let anything upset me but this did. How aggressive as well and as for conning my son's disabled pass is not a con he's actually seriously ill. I've added a picture of him to prove not everyone looks ill or disabled but can be seriously ill.She also pointed out that she didn't blame the hospital at all. "They've saved my son's life many times it's just somebody who was parked on the carpark."She's been supported by her communityThe post has been shared more than 31,000 times and is followed by dozens of heartfelt comments. "So true what you say and you are a fantastic strong mum and don't deserve this. That person obv has a very sad life to be so obnoxious, so sorry they upset you," wrote Lucy Marciano-Mills."What a lovely way for a relative of a sick child to treat a fellow relative of a sick child. Sorry you had to receive this note Emma. I wish people would be kinder, you never know what other people are battling," wrote Claire Lewis.Don't judge a book by its coverFor Emma and Bobby, the note on the windshield must have been extremely upsetting. But out of their frustration has come something good — the ability to teach that disabilities look very different. If someone has a handicapped sticker, they're entitled to park in a handicapped spot, end of story. Appalled Mom Stands Up For Son When Daycare Sends Back Malicious Note

A Texas mom thought she'd send her kid to daycare with a lovely note, but what she got in return was shocking and uncalled for.A shocking note from a daycare teacherFrancesca Easdon sent her child Kyler to daycare like any other day, but on this occasion, she sent him with a note to “make him smile at lunchtime,” she said in a since-deleted Facebook post, according to Fox News.“Please tell Kyler that his mommy loves him so much and I’m thinking about him," the note read. What she got in return will make your stomach churn. When the boy returned home, a message in the lunchbox read: “No! Put him on a diet and go away!” Helping to make healthy choicesThe mother was shocked. How couldn't she be?“I sent this note in Kylers lunchbox, thinking that it would make him smile at lunch time, but instead, I received this in return from one of the teachers!” Easdon posted on Facebook. The mom said she had been working to introduce new healthy options in his lunchbox, though that she thinks her son is “absolutely perfect the way he is.”“I’m just helping him make healthier choices,” she said, according to Fox.The teacher was firedIt's unclear what drove this daycare teacher to write such a hurtful note, but what we know is that Easdon immediately contacted the Rocking Horse Day Care where Kyler was going, who “assured” her the matter was being investigated “yet almost no remorse was shown,” she said.“I am disgusted that I put my trust in these people to care for my child and this is what I get in return.”According to Fox, the teacher who wrote the note admitted to doing so and was subsequently fired. Meanwhile, Easdon took her son out of the daycare and enrolled him in a “beautiful new facility….Kyler’s safety and level of care comes first,” she wrote.Rude and uncalled forRegardless of what little Kyler looked like or how much he weighs, this teacher's note is absolutely uncalled for. It's so shocking that you have to wonder what drove the daycare teacher to send it.But since we don't have any more info other than what the mom wrote on Facebook, let's just take this as a reminder to not comment on someone else's weight — and never tell a mom to put her kid on a diet. Appalled Mom Stands Up For 6-Year-Old Shamed By Teacher For Her Painting

A young girl's beautiful artwork went viral after a teacher told her it was "wrong."'You can't do art wrong'Gemma Leighton felt awful for her daughter, Edie, when she came home, dejected. The 6-year-old said the art teacher said she did her project "wrong."So, the caring mom took to Twitter to cheer her daughter up.In a post, she explained what the teacher had said, and proclaimed: "You can't do art wrong!""She was so upset as art is her favourite thing to do," the post continued. "Can you please show Edie some support and like her painting?"The artwork went viralThe post now has over 145,000 likes and some have purchased prints. Many of the comments shared how they, too, were discouraged from a young age but turned out to become artists later in life."Honestly, I am absolutely blown away from all the amazing positive comments about Edie's painting. I wasn't expecting such a response!" Thank you to all of you who have liked and left comments," the mom shared in another tweet. "You have made one little 6-year-old very happy indeed."Gemma LeightonIn another tweet, Edie thanked everyone for their support — and as a surprise to her mother, she shared that she planned to sell prints on an Etsy account."Edie would like to thank everyone for the kind and encouraging support," Leighton wrote. "She feels much more confident than she did this morning and will continue with her art."The Etsy page now has 34 sales.Don't stifle creativitySure, it's possible that Edie wasn't following the assignment to the 'T,' but telling a 6-year-old she's wrong is simply not a way to encourage her to be creative. It's amazing that despite this teacher's mishandling of her student, complete strangers reached out to show their appreciation of Edie. Hopefully, her love of art continues for years to come.More uplifting stories:Fierce Mom Tackles Man Peeping Into 15-Year-Old’s Daughter’s Bedroom11-Year-Old Genius Passes Up Higher Learning And It’s A Lesson For All ParentsMom Tells Son Not To Share With Other Kids And She Makes A Powerful PointWoman Finds Missing Child Using Tik Tok Hack All Parents Need To Know

Dad Kicks Out Teen Son For Being Gay, Wife Instantly Breaks Up With Him

A mother's post went viral on Reddit after she broke up with her now ex-husband for kicking out their gay son.How not to treat an LGBTQ+ childComing out to your parents is an extremely difficult thing to do for many kids — and a dad named Mark provided a perfect example of exactly what not to do.On Reddit, user CountryMamaLynn wrote that she created a new account just to vent about what happened when her son came out to his dad."My son 15 just came out yesterday as gay to my husband and my husband kicked him out [while] I was at work!" she wrote. "I got a panicked phone call from my baby telling me everything and let me tell y'all I was pissed. I left work early and drove to my house where I saw my baby boy sitting on the curb with his clothes and sh*t all across the damn lawn and screaming as if now soon to be ex-husband who is not the man I thought I married!!!!"The woman proceeded to give her soon to be ex-husband a piece of her mind. "..I told him that if he can't be a man and support his son then he can kiss my ass and find someone else to pay his bills."The woman then shoved her son's clothes in a car and drove to a hotel where she wrote the post, which has since been deleted by preserved on Twitter. She wanted her son to feel lovedThe Reddit user proceeded to ask for advice about how to make her son feel accepted and loved. First, she bought him a bunch of pride stuff, started knitting a rainbow blanket, and arranged to meet his boyfriend of seven months."I'm getting to meet him over Facetime tomorrow and I'm so excited!!!!!""Out of everything that's happened the most heartbreaking thing was my son saying: 'I'm sorry I'm crying mom I just need to be strong.' I told him that he doesn't need to be strong he just needs to be loved and that I'll do anything I can to make him feel that way. God this is the hardest thing in my life."She'll (hopefully) never find another man like himAs for the husband, Reddit's consensus was clear: dump him.In an update, she said she "kindly reminded" her then-husband who owns the house he was living in and who pays the bills. His response was: "You need me woman, you cant just kick me out w****e."The two of them met in person, along with the woman's "adorable camo baseball bat just in case things went south," and he started off on the wrong foot. "He was hooting and hollering about how 'I was already screwing a different woman so I dont need you!' And obviously this upset me but then I remembered that I dont have to put up with this..." "He started crying like a baby, begging me to let him stay and saying 'you'll never find another man like me' and I told him that is the whole point of me leaving him. So he finally left after hours crying like a b*tch and now my son and I have lots of extra space!"Homophobia is never OKIt certainly sounds like this woman and her son are a lot better off without this cruel man.But beyond getting rid of the husband, this woman's story is that much more uplifting because of how hard she tried to love her son after learning about his sexual orientation, and how passionately she took a stance against homophobia.
