Steve Jobs' Daughter Is Nothing Like Him - And He'd Be So Proud Of Her

Eve Jobs, the 22-year-old youngest daughter of late Apple founder Steve Jobs is a shining star. She's one of the world's best young equestrians, a student at Stanford, and a successful model in a new Glossier campaign. And she's nothing like her dad.Star equestrian, student, and fashion iconJobs might be the daughter of the founder of one of the world's richest companies, but her success cannot be attributed to her dad's money. For starters, Jobs is one of the best show jumpers in the world. According to Horse Sport, she's ranked fifth out of 1,000 riders under 25.One of her biggest successes came right before the pandemic at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, when she helped the US team earn a bronze medal and finished fourth overall individually."For me personally, one of my biggest achievements to date was producing a clear in the first team round in Lima," Jobs told World of Showjumping. "My hope is to continue progress with the US team. Of course, being able to compete at the Olympics and World Equestrian Games would be a dream."Eve JobsMeanwhile, Jobs is an excellent student. She managed to get accepted into an undergraduate degree at one of the most difficult schools to get into, Stanford University, where she's currently enrolled with the class of 2021. As of late, Jobs has made waves as a model, appearing in Glossier's Holiday campaign alongside Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney and RuPaul's Drag Race's Naomi Smalls. The photos of Eve used in the campaign were all self portraits, according to W Magazine. No inheritanceWhen Steve Jobs died, he was worth $7 billion, which included nearly $5 billion in shares of Disney, not Apple, according to Forbes.Today, Eve's mother Laurene Powell Jobs is the 35th richest woman in the world with a net worth of $27.5 billion, but she won't pass on the inheritance she received from Steve to her children.“I’m not interested in legacy wealth buildings, and my children know that,” she told The New York Times in February 2020. “Steve wasn’t interested in that. If I live long enough, it ends with me.”“It’s not right for individuals to accumulate a massive amount of wealth that’s equivalent to millions and millions of other people combined,” she added. “There’s nothing fair about that.” Instead of giving the money to Eve, Laurene has the same mentality as Amazon billionaire Mackenzie Scott and is giving a lot of her money away to philanthropy. Her dad would be proudThe dissimilarities between Steve and his daughter Eve are stark. For instance, Steve dropped out of college after just one semester. Eve is a student at Stanford. But the late founder would undoubtedly be proud of his youngest daughter, and we know that he had high hopes for her before he died.Jobs told Walter Isaacson, the author of his bestselling biography, that he could see Eve running Apple one day, or even becoming president of the United States. "She's a pistol and has the strongest will of any kid I've ever met."Steve JobsIt's so amazing to see how well Eve is doing despite not having her father there to raise her. It's even more incredible to know that she's well on her way to being extremely successful, even without the promise of Steve's inheritance. We don't know exactly what Steve would say about Eve today, but judging by his prior comments we can only assume he'd be proud. How couldn't he be?More uplifting stories:4 Years Ago, He Was Homeless–Today, He Bought His First HousePoor Man Who Missed Job Interview To Save A Life Had Employers Lining Up To Hire HimDomestic Abuse Survivor Marries The First Responder Who Saved Her LifeBrooklyn Landlord Cancels Rent For Hundreds Of Tenants, Setting An Unprecedented Example For Others

Steve Jobs was is one of the most respected entrepreneurs and inventors of his time. In 1976 he founded Apple together with his friend Steve Wozniak. They created their first computer, the Apple I, in the garage of Jobs' parents. This was followed by the Apple II, which sold 2 million units worldwide quickly making Steve Jobs famous and wealthy. As Apple grew, Steve Jobs brought in John Sculley, a more experienced CEO, to run the company. In 1985, following a long power struggle with Sculley, Jobs was fired from his own company. During this time he started a new company called NeXT and another company called Pixar. Pixar went on to create the first computer-animated film, Toy Story. 12 years later, Apple bought NeXT and Jobs returned to Apple as the head of the company. Under his renewed leadership Apple would successfully develop and launch the iMac, the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad, launching the different products in a multi-year pace in his famous keynotes and making his company the highest valued company in the world. In 2003, Steve Jobs was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer. He spent the following years fighting against the disease and undergoing several hospitalizations and work stoppages, appearing increasingly thin. During this time he still managed to personally introduce the iPhone and the iPad keynotes. He died October 5, 2011 at his home in Palo Alto, at the age of fifty-six.His passion for making a "dent in the universe" and his drive for perfection in everything he touched revolutionized 6 industries; phones, music, animated movies, PCs, tablets and digital publishing. Here are some of Steve Jobs' best inspiring quotes that will encourage you to live the life of your dreams.“Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.”― Steve Jobs“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn't matter to me. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”― Steve Jobs“You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.” ― Steve Jobs“Sometimes when you innovate, you make mistakes. It is best to admit them quickly, and get on with improving your other innovations.”― Steve Jobs“Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”― Steve Jobs“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.”― Steve Jobs“Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.”― Steve Jobs“Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. If you're not passionate enough from the start, you'll never stick it out.”― Steve Jobs“Stay hungry. Stay foolish.”― Steve JobsHere is a bonus quote that we could not leave out:“When you grow up you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money. That's a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it… Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again.”― Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs - Follow Your Intuition (Inspirational Speech)

Steve Jobs - Follow Your Intuition Video Inspiring speech by Steve Jobs put together from his Stanford Commencement Speech. Movie: Jobs (2013) Transcript: I was lucky — I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents’ garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4,000 employees. We had just released our finest creation — the Macintosh — a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. As Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out.So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating. I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life. During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT, I returned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple’s current renaissance. You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. . because believing that the dots will connect down the road. will give you the confidence to follow your heart even when it would lead you of the well-worn path and that will make all the difference. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle. Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. Don't forget to share this video to spread the motivation!

Steve Jobs - Life Goes On (Inspirational Interview)

Steve Jobs talks about how he learned to be in guard against arrogance. He tells us how he overcame the hard times when he was fired from Apple. Transcript: Steve Jobs: I think all of us need to be on guard against arrogance, which knocks at the door whenever you're successful. - Have you lived through that? Steve Jobs: Oh sure, oh sure. - Now by that, correct me if I'm wrong, you have an incredible eye with the initial success of Apple. And then other competitors get in, and it's sobering. Steve Jobs: Well, as you may know, I was basically fired from Apple when I was 30. And was invited to come back 12 years later. So that was difficult when it happened. But maybe the best thing that ever happened to me. There wouldn't be a Pixar if that hadn't happened. And so, you move on, life goes on, and you learn from it. I thought at that moment, what a circle of life. You know? Life is just always mysterious and surprising, and you never know what's around the next corner.

10 Things Successful People Never Do

Successful individuals are admired by most of us. Everyone wants to be like them, but when you try to imitate their success, you'll notice that it's not that easy. What is their secret ? No one has a clear answer, and no one can claim to know the sure path a person should walk to get there, but when you dig deeper you realize that there are certain behaviors or habits that most achievers avoid that could be a bigger factor for their accomplishment. You should consider eliminating these behaviors if you want to be at least as successful as they are. Here are 10 things successful people never do.10 Things Successful People Never DoBelieve in failureSuccessful people don't separate the success from their failures since their definition of failure is very different from that of society.“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”― Thomas EdisonYou can’t separate success from failure since it’s all part of the same process. Making mistakes only means that there are things that you still don't know. To succeed, you have to be willing to make those mistakes so that you can learn to overcome adversity. Therefore successful individuals don't perceive mistakes as failures but as a necessary for their progress towards a goal. You only fail when you quit.Care about others opinionsImagine what world we would live today if the Wright brothers listened to the critics and stopped working on the airplane or if Sergey Brin and Larry Page didn't start Google after being repeatedly told that it was a bad idea. Most people stop pursuing their dreams as soon as they get confronted with some kind of opposition. They assume people must cheer them up for them to be successful. The next time someone gives their opinion about your ambitions, try to ignore it, because, in the long run, it won't matter. Most of the time, the people giving advice have never done what you want to do.You should instead listen to the masters in your field. You wouldn't ask an unsuccessful salesperson about his opinion if you want to become a successful one. You'd rather consult the most successful salesperson you know. Most masters encourage people that are below them to follow their passions however crazy they may sound.Successful people have opinions of their own, but they will never claim that their opinion is the only right one. Their self-esteem is high enough that they can admit and apologize if they are wrong. In other words, they are sometimes wrong that doesn't stop them from moving forward.Next time, think about it for a minute; Why would you ever put others opinions above your own?Waste their timePeople say time is money. But I don't agree with that. Time is even more valuable than money. Successful people know that. You can almost get anything back in life: If your girlfriend leaves you, you can get a new one, if you lose money, you can work more and earn it back, if you break your MacBook, you can buy a new one. Time is one of the few things in life that you can't get back. Once a moment is gone, you can't have it back.Money only helps you have more access to time, but it can't buy it and that's why successful people work and act with a sense of urgency because they know that the clock is ticking, it could all be over in an instant. Stop postponing the important things, do them now."Almost everything - all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart."― Steve JobsBlame others for their circumstancesYou will never find top achievers blame others for their misfortune. They always take the blame. In some cases, they will even take the blame for other people's mistakes.Blaming others provides your brain with an easy excuse to not improve upon yourself. You'll just think "It wasn't my fault, it was his. So, I'm okay, it's he who has to change not me." But by taking responsibility for your own actions, you'll have to work on yourself to avoid the same mistakes or circumstances again.“If you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that! I'm always gonna love you, no matter what. No matter what happens. You're my son and you're my blood. You're the best thing in my life. But until you start believing in yourself, you ain't gonna have a life.”― Sylvester Stallone, Rocky BalboaExpect money as rewardIf you do what you do just for the sake of getting rich, you won't get far. One of the most important requirements for achieving massive success is to love what you do. Successful people do what they do for the simple reason that they love it!It's just like being in love. If you really love someone you would want to spend as much time as possible with that person and in many cases you would sacrifice a lot to be that person! And that's the same with your work. You have to love what you do so much that you are willing to give up other things in order to pursue your passion. Mark Zuckerberg famously said "We don't build services to make money. We make money to build better services." If you're not willing to do it for free, then don't do it for money. You need a lot of passion for what you're doing because its so hard. Without passion, any rational person would give up. So if you're not having fun doing it, if you don't absolutely love it, you're going to give up. And that's what happens to most people. Actually if you look at the ones that ended up being successful in the eyes of society, often times its the ones who love what they do, so they could persevere when it got really tough. And the ones that didn't love it, quit. Because they're sane, right? Who would put up with this stuff if you don't love it? So it's a lot of hard work and it's a lot of worrying constantly. If you don't love it, you're going to fail.― Steve JobsBelieve in luckApart from impossible, luck is another word that you won't find in the vocabulary of the movers and shakers. Luck to them is the outcome of their work. Successful people don’t wait for luck in order to achieve a breakthrough. They believe in the old saying that “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity” and so they work on preparing for the opportunity instead of waiting for it or even worse, hoping for it.“I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.”― Stephen LeacockSet random goalsOne of the most important things in getting successful is having clear goals. You need a clear vision of what you want to achieve to be able to eventually get there.“If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time.”― Zig Ziglar"I want to be rich" is not a goal. Your goal has to be precise, ambitious and with an expiration date. "I will make 2 million in sales by 2020" is a lot better. Set well-defined and measurable goals for yourself and you'll have a higher likelihood of reaching it.Think the common wayThe successful think differently than others by default. Where others might see a problem or difficulty, they see an opportunity. They carefully examine the situation and take it upon themselves to find the solution. When Apple presented the first iPod, the MP3-player market was already saturated. When Google started, there already was other search engine giants like Yahoo or Altavista in the market. When Facebook started, there already were a dozen of other social media platforms. But each of the incumbents had a flaw in the way they worked, and the newer startups had a better and more convenient solution.“All great thinkers are initially ridiculed – and eventually revered.”― Robin S. SharmaTry to change things that are uncontrollableYou will never hear successful people complain over their circumstances. Instead, they concentrate on exercising power over the things they can control.Successful people understand that there are situations that are out of one's control and that the only thing to do in these situations is to change your attitude. Rather than blame everything and someone or something else, successful people know to recognize the controllable things in life and then appropriately mold them into a more favorable state."When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."― Viktor E. FranklDo everything aloneI've met a lot of people who surely could have needed some help, but were too proud to admit it. Successful people do work hard, but they don't shy away from seeking help when they need it.Imagine if you are running your own company. That means you need a marketing department, a human resources department, an accounting department and so on. How are you going to do all these tasks by yourself? Well, you can't. There is no way that you can do everything by yourself and eventually you'll have to give up control."Ask for help, not because you're weak, but because you want to remain strong."― Robin S. Sharma
