Rachel McAdams Goes Viral for Wearing Breast Pump in High Fashion Shoot, Redefines Motherhood in the Most Authentic Way

Breastfeeding is a beautiful part of motherhood, but women are often shunned into hiding it -- told to cover up in public or go to special rooms. Actress Rachel McAdams took that stereotype and turned it on its nose though when she wore her breast pump as a fashion accessory --  with Versace.

McAdams posed during a photo shoot for Girls. Girls. Girls. magazine in a Versace outfit, some Bulgari diamonds and her breast pump.

“Obviously #rachelmcadams looks incredible and was quite literally the dream to work with but also this shoot was about 6 months post her giving birth to her son, so between shots she was expressing/pumping as still breastfeeding,"  Claire Rothstein, founder of the magazine, wrote in the caption of an Instagram sharing that image from the photo shoot.

"We had a mutual disagreement about who's idea it was to take this picture but I'm still sure it was hers which makes me love her even more."

"Breastfeeding is the most normal thing in the world, like breathing, and I can't for the life of me imagine why or how it is ever frowned upon or scared of," Rothstein said. "I don't even think it needs explaining but just wanted to put this out there, as if it even changes one person's perception of something so natural, so normal, so amazing then that's great."

Motherhood really seems to agree with McAdams, who told The Sunday Times last month that it has been "the greatest thing that's ever happened to me, hands down."

"(People say) your life is not your own any more," she told the UK publication. "But I had 39 years of me, I was sick of me, I was so happy to put the focus on some other person. I waited a long time (for motherhood)."

Here's for not being afraid to show the world your authentic, vulnerable and most powerful side.

Jen and her brother, Todd, were just 10 and 12 years old when their father began dating Shirley Norton. It was 1986. Their love affair was short-lived, lasting only a year.

And while it may have been brief, it left an impact that stayed with Shirley until she died.

Eighteen years later, Jen received a phone call out of the blue. It was from a bank manager, informing her that Shirley had bequeathed $50,000 each to her and her brother. But in addition to the inheritance, Shirley also left behind a note.
