Sweet Revenge: Shakira Fights Back After Piqué Cheating Scandal (VIDEO)

Shakira may have suffered a breakup but she wasn't about to let it break her.

Columbia pop megastar Shakira went from shaking her hips to shaking up the world when news broke that her 11-year relationship with Spanish soccer star, Gerard Piqué, had ended.

The couple announced the split in June 2022 in a joint statement asking for privacy for the sake of their two sons, Sasha and Milan.

However, privacy was the last thing they received. Amid a flurry of tabloid headlines, accusations of Piqué's alleged infidelities flew, and one of the biggest cheating scandals of the decade erupted.

The Cheating Scandal That Rocked The World

The two first met 12 years ago when the footballer featured in the music video for Shakira’s song “Waka Waka,” the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

They quickly fell in love with Shakira boldly declaring that he was the "one" and Piqué echoing the statement, calling her "the love of my life." And for years, this seemed to be true. They built a life together, had two children, and weathered a frightening health scare before it all came crumbling down.

I mean, one of the two of us had to make a sacrifice, right?
