6 Types Of People You Need to Surround Yourself With in Life

Success and happiness comes from within, but it's also very much about the people we choose to have around us.

And while toxic people can be disastrous to our energy and sense of self, the right friends, mentors, and partners can support us, empower us, uplift us, and help us take on the world.

Here are six types of healthy, positive personalities you should look for in your entourage.

1. Adventurous people

"This is the friend that is up for anything, and is a great companion for road trips or getaways," says Antonia Hall, MA., a psychologist, relationship expert, and award-winning author of The Ultimate Guide to a Multi-Orgasmic Life. "They'll sign up for that crazy physical challenge with you, or fly to Japan to admire cherry blossom season."

When you want to get out of your comfort zone, these are the people you'll want right by your side.

2. Authentic people

This is the friend with whom you can be yourself, and never feel like you have to make pretenses. "Life can be challenging enough, so having friends that aren't judging you is very important for your well-being. You know and trust that they have your back, and will always be honest with you," says Hall.

This type of friend allows you to be vulnerable, express your emotions in healthy ways, and helps bring a smile back to your face when you're down.

3. Cheerleaders

This is the person you can always count on to lift your spirits, motivate you through challenges, and make you smile.

"Whatever you're going through, they'll have you counting the good stuff and reminding you that life is full of ups and downs, and all of the negative stuff will soon turn around," says Hall.

4. Successful mentors

We should all have a friend that has accomplished goals we'd like to achieve, even if it's in a slightly different field from our own. "Having someone that can honestly and patiently guide the way through challenges that might arise while working towards new successes is essential," says Hall.

This person wants the best for you, and is happy when you excel.

5. Positive people

Human beings are made up of vibrational energy, and this energy can be passed on to others around them.

"When you surround yourself with people with positive vibrations, your energy will become full of light. You will create a deeper happiness, better health, and a sense of peace and well-being," says Kelsy Lynagh, life coach and wellness consultant.

6. Good listeners

"When your friends actually listen to you and try to understand your struggles, dreams and goals, you will feel heard and safe to make improvements in your life," says Lynagh.

Let's face it: Sometimes we just need a shoulder to cry on to feel so much better.

Famous sisters always get compared to one other—hell, even non-famous sisters deal with some level of unhealthy comparison. That's the case with Miley Cyrus and her sister Noah Cyrus, who is 7 years her junior.

While Miley rose to fame on the Disney Channel as Hannah Montana and later took the music scene by storm, in recent years Noah Cyrus began releasing music too. But back in May, while discussing the release of her EP, The End of Everything, Noah recalled emotionally what it was like to grow up as Miley Cyrus's little sister. “It was absolutely unbearable,” she said.
