Gwen Stefani Revealed Her Favorite Shade of Red Lipstick - And It Only Costs $6

Gwen Stefani has tried many red lipsticks over the years, but she reveals why one specific Revlon shade is a favorite.

From her success with No Doubt to her solo career, Gwen Stefani is iconic for many reasons -- and her signature red lipstick look is one of them. If you’re a fan of the bold look yourself but can’t seem to find the perfect shade of red, you’re in for a pleasant surprise: Stefani’s ultimate favorite red lipstick is a $6 drugstore find

Stefani has been rocking red lips practically her whole life, so she knows a thing or two about creating the perfect red pout. “My grandma gave me a bunch of colors in my Christmas stocking when I was 18,” she told InStyle. I tried one on in my car and saw it in the rearview mirror. I remember loving how it made me feel: daring.”

Since then, she has experimented with every imaginable shade of red. "Everyone my whole entire life has always asked me, 'what color red do you wear?' Well I don't wear one color red, you know. I love to mix it up,” she shared in a Cosmopolitan interview.

Stefani recently launched her higher-end GXVE Beauty line, which includes red lipstick, of course, but there is one drugstore find that she recommends to replicate her signature aesthetic.

It’s the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in the Cherries In The Snow shade. “I'm a classic girl; I like that the color has been around forever. It's that real old-school red,” she told Elle.

As a Revlon ambassador, Stefani is a fan of the brand’s Super Lustrous Lipsticks and has them in many different colors, but that one takes the cake as far as achieving a classic look. “I have all the Super Lustrous Lipsticks,” she shared with Elle.

“This is why it's so fun to work with Revlon; they hook me up with all this amazing make-up, which means I get to wear colors I never thought I would wear. You know what I mean, I would always normally go for a blue red, but it's been fun to explore all the different colors.”

Wondering what makes a multi-millionaire music mogul gravitate towards a $6 lipstick? It’s all in the formula. The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick line packs a serious pigment punch without drying out your lips.

The lipsticks are formulated with vitamin E and avocado oil for a buttery feeling that rivals lip balm yet delivers high-impact color. And it won't cake through the night.

Like Stefani mentioned, Cherries In The Snow has more of that blue tint –- it’s almost fuchsia –- but you could also experiment with Certainly Red and Fire and Ice to find the perfect shade for your skin tone.
