When Holly Grimet, mother of two in Alvin, Texas went to pick up a birthday cake for her daughter Eva, she was met with a heartwarming surprise.
Why One Stranger Bought a Mom’s Birthday Cake
Holly approached the cashier at Krogers to pay for Eva’s mermaid inspired chocolate and vanilla cake only to find that it had already been paid for. Immediately, she began to wonder who went out of their way for such a kind gesture. Was it a friend or grandparent that was trying to surprise Holly?
While spinning her mind around all possibilities, the store clerk ensured Holly that the gesture was much sweeter than expected. The anonymous buyer had left a note for the mother of two.

The note said, “My son Nehemiah would be 8 years old today. I wanted to remember my son by doing good to others. I hope you enjoy your child’s cake, and I hope your day is special. Hold your baby a little tighter today. Watch them as they play, be patient with them, kiss their sweet little hand, and tell them how much you love them. Our children are such special gifts! I hope your day is beautiful. Much love from me and my angel in heaven to your family.”
After reading the note, Holly broke down in tears. She did not expect to be a part of something so touching. “This. Melts. My. Heart.” she wrote, “I’m a crying mess. So thankful for my babies.”
How a Stranger Proved the Importance of Cherishing Your Loved Ones
For someone to go through what the anonymous mother has gone through and maintain a positive outlook is truly inspiring. She wanted Holly to understand her without having to experience the same sort of loss. Moved by the message, Holly decided to pay it forward and anonymously pay for another family’s birthday cake. It is only right that this kind of love be put in rotation.
