Ariana Grande Is Taking Time off to 'Mend and Heal,' Shows Us the Importance of Self Care

Ariana Grande has had a lot going on lately, from exciting career developments, to a new romance, to some devastating personal losses. It should be no surprise, then, that she’s decided she needs a bit of a break.

Ariana-Grande

"Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend," her team told People. "She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding"

Grande had an unexpected personal loss when her ex-boyfriend, rapper Mac Miller, died of a suspected drug overdose on September 7th. She went on to pen a tribute to Miller on September 14th on her Instagram:

"I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this. So many times. I’m so mad, I'm so sad i don’t know what to do. You were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. Rest."

Grande also recently shared she suffered from anxiety and PTSD after the May 2017 Manchester Arena bombing—”I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry,” she told British Vogue in June.

There's no doubt Ariana Grande has been through a lot the last few years, and her choice to take some time off makes so much sense. Sometimes it's very important to take a break to deal with your own health and happiness. But remember, Ariana, you have big things on the horizon, and you'll get through this.

Racism Quotes

Racism is considered the marginalization and/or oppression of people of color based on a socially constructed racial hierarchy that privileges another race. The term is applied in many areas of a society that perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race or strengthen racial inequalities in education, health care, income, and civil rights.

Ever since the 20th century, the concept of biological race is considered a cultural invention that has no scientific basis. The progress over the past half-century has been impressive, but the nation still has a long way to go to reach true racial equality.

A community is so much more than people sharing a space. It's a living, breathing network of connections and shared experiences. While it's usually defined as “a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common,” true community runs much deeper than that.
