Chrissy Teigen Opens Up About the Inspiring Way She's Accepting Her Changing Body After Becoming a Mom

Chrissy Teigen is probably our favorite person on the internet. She’s funny, snarky and never is afraid to say what’s on her mind. On top of that, she happens to be the epitome of a cool mom, a great cook, and, casually, she’s also a supermodel.

Is there anything she can’t do? Well, apparently, it’s taken her a while to come to terms with her own body as it changed after becoming a mother.

“I think, in a way, we’ve forgotten what a regular body looks like,” Chrissy Teigen told Good Housekeepingin an interview. “There are people out there who are struggling and I’m struggling, and it’s okay to come to terms with that being okay, to realize that it’s gonna be a bit of a journey,” Teigen tells the magazine.

“Every morning when I look at myself in the mirror, I’m like,

‘Oh my gosh, how did it get here? My baby was, like, four pounds and I gained,

like, sixty pounds, and that seems off!’ ” she adds. “But, you know, I think

everyone’s body is just really different.”

Teigen has been working on self-acceptance. “I think now I understand that food is so emotional for me, so I need to realize that if I put good things in my body, I’m probably going to have a better day the next day,” she told Good Housekeeping. “Working out, to me, has never been about losing weight, it’s always been a mood thing, and it always, always helps my mood. So to be able to get back in that routine would be great.”

It’s important to remember that even supermodel-actress-authors who are married to rockstars are also human. “I have moods like anybody else,” Teigen continues. “Some days, I’ll wake up and I’ll read something and it’ll totally not affect me. But if I read that same thing the next day -- after a night of no sleep and a really rough day with Luna -- it naturally gets to you because you’re in a sh*tier mood. If I wake up, and I’m like, ‘Ugh, I feel bloated, I haven’t worked out for a few days’ and I read something about my body? That’s the day that I’m gonna speak up.”

It's important to remember that everyone struggles, and no matter how amazing their life seems, it's never the same to live it. But, Chrissy Teigen proves that accepting your body and yourself entirely, no matter what, is key to self-love. We happen to think you're doing a killer job, Chrissy!
