Mark Cuban's Daughter, Alexis Sofia Cuban Is Nothing Like Him - and He Doesn't Want Her to Become Entitled

Mark Cuban became a billionaire by investing in tech. But despite all of his experience, his three children -- daughters Alexis Sofia Cuban and Alyssa Cuban, and son Jake Cuban -- are the ones keeping him up to date with the pros and cons of the latest apps.RELATED: 15 Motivational Mark Cuban Quotes on Hard Work and SuccessMark Cuban is worth $5.2 billion, according to Forbes, due largely to selling Broadcast.com to Yahoo in 1999. Owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Cuban has also become a TV personality and business guru through his role as an investor on the reality show Shark Tank. However, despite all of his know-how in the tech world, Cuban is still learning, thanks to his children.Who Are Mark Cuban's Children? The Shark Tank billionaire may have raised his 3 children in a mansion but that didn't mean Cuban didn't see the value in doing things for yourself!“I like the privacy,” Cuban said. “I’ve been around people who hire somebody to do everything for them, and that’s just, like, no privacy.”Cuban has three kids with his wife Tiffany Stewart – Alexis Sofia Cuban, 20, Alyssa Cuban, 16, and Jake Cuban, 13. The couple wanted to make sure they instilled specific values in their kids, like understanding the importance of money, despite Cuban’s current US$5.2 billion net worth, per Forbes.“I just try to be the same person, I mean, as I was when I was poor, middle and rich,” Cuban, 65, told The Really Good Podcast, “The whole idea of like, get a yacht ... it’s just not what I would do.”Alexis Sofia Cuban Is a Rising TikTok StarMark Cuban and eldest daughter Alexis Sofia Cuban (Image: Instagram)Mark Cuban's oldest daughter is Alexis Cuban, 20, is one of Cuba's billionaire kids with her own success . Born in 2003, like many her age, she loves TikTok. She has more than 380,100 followers who watch videos of her dancing to popular songs. But Alexis' most popular videos include father Mark Cuban, who has a good time participating in the next generation's technology by dancing along to the songs. He and Alexis even recorded themselves in 2019 rocking out to the Boston metal band Unearth. ("Long stop lights gone wrong," the billionaire wrote.)Cuban has also learned how "intellectually stimulating" the video game Minecraft can be from his 12-year-old son Jake, according to CNBC.Mark Cuban Knows the Dangers of Modern Tech(Image: Mark Cuban Companies)But one of the biggest things Mark Cuban has learned from his kids is how dangerous modern technology can be.RELATED: Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale Reveal Why They Never Married After Two ChildrenCuban said that, when Alexis was younger, he made her turn off her phone at 10 p.m. during the week, and 11 p.m. on weekends. He also figured out a clever workaround to make sure Alexis and her two younger siblings, Alyssa and Jake, were not wasting away on apps into the night.Cuban Limited His Kids' Screen Time, from Phones to Netflix“I have installed Cisco routers ... I have management software," Cuban told CNBC in 2017. "So, it says what apps they’re using so I can shut off their phone activity. I’m sneaky as can be. And she hates it. That’s the downside of having a geeky dad, you know. I can figure all this stuff out.”He also uses the router to restrict the children's Netflix time.“So, I try to stay one step ahead, and it’s good for me, too, because it keeps me abreast of all the new apps and all the new technology.”Mark Cuban“The more you know about technology, the more experiences you’ve had, and the more exposures you’ve had to the pluses and minuses,” Cuban told Arianna Huffington on The Thrive Global Podcast. “Obviously, once you see the downside, you try to protect your children from it.”Mark Cuban Bribed His Kids to Stop Using TechMark Cuban and son Jake Cuban in the Cayman Islands in 2019 (Image: Instagram)Mark Cuban said in a 2015 interview that his "biggest fear" is that his kids will grow up to be "entitled jerks" because of their father's net worth. He wants them instead to make their own money rather than grow up rich off his fortune. But the billionaire has shared a bit of his money by bribing his three children to stop spending too many hours in front of a screen.“I’m not going to lie, I paid my son $150 to not watch [Minecraft] videos for two months,” Cuban told CNBC. “But he could earn if he watched math videos, or did math problems for me, he could earn time to watch Minecraft videos.”Cuban Thinks Snapchat Is No Substitute for a NewspaperAlexis Sofia Cuban (Image: Instagram)Cuban grew up watching his parents read the newspaper, which inspired him to do the same thing. But Alexis Sofia Cuban doesn't have the same drive to read ink on paper. Instead, she gets her news from discovery on Snapchat, which her father doesn't think is enough.“I’m on Snapchat, I get to see the discover right? It’s not the same,” he said.“It’s [an] OK way to keep up, but trying to get them to engage and learn more outside of school is a challenge," Cuban added. "Now it’s that way for every 13-year-old regardless of what decade you live in or were born in, but trying to push them in that direction — there’s no easy solution."Learning from the Next Generation?Parents get so caught up in teaching their kids that they often forget that sometimes the best teachers are the next generation. Take this as a great reminder to listen to what your kids have to say and to learn from the things they love — but at the same time, it's important to share your wisdom, especially when it comes to the dangers of modern technology.KEEP READING: Mark Cuban's Daily Routine Includes Waking Up at 6:30 to Tackle This Surprising Task

So when she needed to buy her son footwear that she couldn't afford, she turned to social media in the hope someone may donate a pair to her son. And, wow, did it work! He immediately decided to help.Shaq intervenes“Mom couldn’t afford shoes. The kid had big feet. I just kind of reminisced about how that used to be me, my mom and my dad,” O’Neal said. And that’s where Shaq remains a loyal customer to this day.So when Zach walked into the store with his mom, he was shocked and excited to run into Shaq, who bought him 10 pairs of shoes!“I’m like, ‘Whoa, he wants to buy me shoes, out of all people?'” Zach said. From Wacky Outfits to IHOP Encounters, Here's Why Adam Sandler Is The Picture of Humility

Born on September 9, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York, Adam Sandler was kind of the class clown, and had no idea that someday he’d become a successful comedian and actor. Before devoting himself to making movies Adam was a regular on MTV’s Remote Control and on NBC’s SNL. Encouraged by his brother to continue his work, the actor is now one of Hollywood’s A-listers.A staple in American comedy, Adam has kept people laughing over the years with movies like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer and The Waterboy (to mention a few). You’d think that dominating the box office for about three decades, might eventually influence someone’s ego and personality. But this is just not the case with Adam Sandler. The “Sandman” proves time and time again that he can be a successful movie star without letting his A-list status get to his head. Many actors that have collaborated with him have said that he is one of the nicest and most genuine actors in Hollywood, and fans also agree. Cool, caring, sweet and easy to work with, Adam Sandler seems to be a rare gem and here's why.An accidental style icon (Photo by Gilbert Carrasquillo/GC Images)While the comedian is clearly not the kind that you’d see keeping up with trends and wearing those overly-expensive glamorous suits, Adam’s steady flow of relaxed outfits make him a style icon.He does have a long story of unforgivable fashion looks, but the man simply doesn’t care. Rarely deviating from his uniform consisting of a baggy t-shirt, even baggier basketball shorts and a pair of sneakers, Adam always looks ready for an after school game of basketball. Even his co-stars and friends have come to cherish his quirky style.Well Adam doesn’t really have a great wardrobe, but that’s his thing. He actually loves it.Jennifer Aniston on Ellen ShowOf course, every now and then you’d see him wearing a suit to an award show, but not always. The funnyman is well-known for his appearances in sweat suits even to these kinds of events and also for being interviewed in track pants on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. He’s so laid-back that he’s been seen wearing slippers to his own premieres on some occasions.I’m not sponsored by any of those guys, no, but on occasion I’d get some free Nikes, I’ll be honest with you. Adam Sandler for New York TimesWhile other actors in his age range are well-dressed and have been praised for their outfits in the pages of GQ, Adam has been prioritizing comfort over fashion since the early 90s. His relaxed signature look is proof of him surviving trends and styles that have constantly changed over the decades. It’s somewhat baffling to think that an actor reportedly worth almost half a billion dollars has remained faithful to his basic look, especially with all the influencers telling us what to wear everyday. Fast fashion has gotten us to buy things for the sake of buying. The world is now obsessed with endless consumption, but Adam’s commitment to his comfortable outfits is definitely an admirable move, defying the norms we seem to have accepted.Although he could afford the fanciest outfits, he doesn’t care what other people think of him and simply wears what he wants. By breaking every fashion rule, Adam challenges our perception of what a good outfit looks like and has become a fashion icon for anyone who prefers comfortable clothing.Adam Sandler’s famous IHOP encounterFrom whacky outfits to walking around on the New York streets eating a jar of pickles, Adam Sandler doesn’t cease to show us just how down to earth he is. Moreover, in May 2021, after being spotted at an IHOP, the A-lister behaved just like any other human being after he’s been told he’d need to wait half an hour for a table – he walked away. The hostess obviously didn’t recognize the star so she later posted a video on social media where she apologized to him and guess what? She got a funny, typical reaction from the Sandman on Twitter where he “had” to mention that:For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes.Adam SandlerWhile the truth is that he simply didn’t have the patience to sit and wait for 30 minutes, Sandler also didn’t ask for special treatment and acted totally normal without pulling out the “celebrity card”.Let’s face it – the man could afford eating anywhere he wanted, but chose to have a normal breakfast with his family just like any other “mortal”. And this is enough to tell you that regardless of his status, he is still a man of simple taste and pleasures. To make a mence, the chain hosted a #milkshakeMonday in Sandler’s honor and all the earnings went to charity.Forever a humble personBesides, Adam is also a charitable person. When he’s not directly donating for noble causes, he uses his talent to raise funds for autism awareness and for helping people in need. For all of these, Happy Gilmore has become something that not many movie stars can brag about – a celebrity that is aspirational, but also relatable. He’s known to be nice to everyone as he’s even apologized for a parking mistake. And that’s something not many would do – celebrity or not. It’s amazing and endearing at the same time to see that someone so successful can remain so humble.Adam is living proof that money has its perks, but real happiness is about enjoying the simple things in life. He doesn’t care about fancy clothes (one might think he even hates fashion), occasionally takes part in a local basketball game and continues to live a normal life when he’s not on a movie set. His humble attitude to life is a great reminder never to forget where we come from.Humility is a strength"There is no respect for others without humility in one's self."- Henri Frederic Amiel

Sikh Hikers React Quickly And Use Their Turbans To Save Man From Falling To His Death

The Sikh faith supports selfless giving to others, and that was very strongly put into motion during a recent crisis. Several Sikh hikers saw a man in danger of falling into a waterfall. Without thinking about their own safety, they jumped into action to save his life.Stuck in a precarious positionThe danger became apparent when Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue got a call at around 6:00 p.m. on October 11 alerting them that there were hikers in trouble above the Lower Falls at Golden Ears Provincial Park in British Columbia. A man had fallen just above the Falls, and he was finding himself unable to break free and get out.The rescue team sprung into action but before they could get there, a group of regular hikers discovered the stranded man and decided to help. They needed to find a way to reach him and get him out.The hikers were practicing Sikhs and were wearing traditional dastaar turbans. These turbans involve long pieces of wrapped cloth on their heads. In order to save the man, they unwrapped their turbans and used it to reach him.We were trying to think how we could get them out, but we didn't know how to. So we walked for about 10 minutes to find help and then came up with the idea to tie our turbans together.Kuljinder Kinda to NBC NewsA happy ending The innovative idea worked like a charm. The men hiked to the area right above the stranded man, and used their unwrapped turbans to make a rope, lowering it to the hiker. "The rocks there are quite slick and it can be really difficult to get back out of it, especially if you are wet and cold," Rick Laing, a member of the search and rescue team, said. "So, they were fortunate that these five young men happened by and were able to get him out and back up to the trail."Several people are injured each year as a result of slips or falls. It seems about once every one to two years, someone will be swept over the falls and die as a result of their injuries.Rick Laing to NBC NewsHelp others in needWhen this team of hikers saw a man who desperately needed their help, they knew without hesitation that he had to be rescued. Even though many things could have gone wrong with the plan, these brave young men did not worry about their own safety and only wished to save a person's life. Here's What Anne Hathaway Has To Say To The People Who Hate On Her

Why would anyone hate Anne Hathaway?Since her debut in The Princess Diaries, she has become one of the most accomplished and cherished figures in cinema. Whether it’s due to her effortless charisma, extraordinary acting abilities, good-humored demeanor, or natural thoughtfulness, she continues to impress year in, year out. Yet, somewhere along the way, the tide turned against her, and she became subject to widespread hatred, annoyance, and judgment. There’s actually no rhyme or reason for the antagonism, yet audiences still singled her out as someone they could band together to loathe and, in essence, bully. Something about her public presence just rubbed people the wrong way, and so they decided to rally against her.Though we might be ten years removed from the peak of this phenomenon, it’s still worth examining where it all went so wrong for Anne Hathaway and what it signals about our own behavior:Why did Anne Hathaway rub people the wrong way?It all started with a notorious, degrading turn as the co-host of the 83rd Academy Awards in 2011. Though it’s universally acknowledged at this point that James Franco was the one to blame for the dreadful affair, Anne’s involvement did send her crashing into disrepute. However, the crux of the hostility developed a few years later when Anne started winning a slew of awards for her transformative performance as Fantine in the 2012 musical drama Les Misérables. There’s no doubt Oscar season is long, excruciating, and demanding, especially with the pressures the contenders face in being their charming, most perfect selves. Anne Hathaway didn’t put a foot wrong during the campaign, but her earnest, deeply feminine, and enthusiastic personality managed to aggravate the masses nonetheless. As she collected trophies one after the other, the keyboard warriors sprung into action and started implementing an unofficial smear campaign against the actress. They went so far as to create a name for themselves: the Hathahaters. Alexis Rhiannon, a gossip blogger on Crushable, described Anne as “not a real person.” A New Yorker writer said she was “annoying.” The San Francisco Chronicle voted Anne as the ‘The Most Annoying Celebrity of 2013.’ You don’t have to look too far to see the flurry of horrid reactions that surfaced in the wake of Anne’s win for Best Supporting Actress. Anne Hathaway and Meryl StreepI did have my monster out there, I did have the internet turn on me and hate me and it was like a whole big thing [...] You can be incredibly empowered because of those things. So I guess what I’d say is when the bad s**t happens, don’t fear it — just go with it, flow with itAnne Hathaway to The SunIt was relentless and, frankly, baffling. Anne is never one to instigate an ugly beef with a co-star, take part in a controversial project, or say something outrageous for attention; she just goes about her day while being unapologetically herself — which is no piece of cake, to begin with. Sarah Nicole Prickett, a culture commentator, posited that Anne’s display is indicative of a particular type of girl that everyone associates with privilege and pretension, the “princessy, theater-schooled girls who have no game and no sex appeal and eat raisins for dessert”; whereas Ann Friedman of The Cut suggested that people project their insecurities onto Anne because they can’t seem to relate to her supposed ‘perfect’ profile. She allegedly doesn’t have the same “down-to-earth delivery” as someone like Jennifer Lawrence, argues Friedman. Anne is “charming, but not funny,” and therefore, a sizeable contingent of people feel justified to pile on her for simply flourishing in her chosen field. It’s telling that someone as rosy, bright, and optimistic as Anne Hathaway gets ridiculed for the qualities that are otherwise encouraged among young women. It speaks to the impossible, ever-fluctuating expectations placed upon women and the consequences of swinging too hard in one direction. How did the hate make Anne feel more "empowered?"Anne, for her part, has been forthcoming about her insecurities and how they were exacerbated by this onslaught of criticism. In 2013, following her win at the Oscars, the Ocean’s 8 actress commented about the divisive reaction to her acceptance speech, saying that it does “get to her,” but she tries to remain focused on the positive rather than the negative. “The miracle of the universe is that, as far as they know, there's 51 percent matter versus 49 percent anti-matter — things tip in the scale of the positive,” she said at the time. Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews[the hate] was a really good thing for me personally.Anne HathawayThe mother-of-two opened up about the backlash a few years later and said that she doesn’t like to dredge up this specific chapter of her career. At first, she’d be “caught off-guard” by these tabloid narratives. She admitted that she hasn’t necessarily grown a “rhino skin” over the matter but that she sees it for what it is. She also isn’t too “eager” to discuss ‘Hathahaters’ in every interview and is ready to move past the rather demoralizing subject. Ultimately, she feels “empowered” by the entire situation; it taught her that sometimes you couldn’t control the conversation around you or about you. “And it was a really good thing for me personally,” she said. Her advice is that all you can do is roll with the punches and focus your priorities as if nothing happened. You cannot let haters take care of your self-esteem by any means, so it’s critical to continue being yourself come hell or high water. This doesn’t mean you won’t entertain change but that you don’t have to conform to the ups and downs of public opinion to feel worthy. Once you become fixated on winning everyone over, you invariably end up winning no one over, including yourself. Don’t judge others — look withinWhat’s perhaps a little bittersweet about this commotion is that Anne likely wouldn’t have faced the same level of resentment in today’s day and age. Not that everyone has become progressive out of nowhere, but there is a greater awareness and tolerance for celebrities and their distinct personas. There’s room for glass-half-full and the glass-half-empty; the cheerleader, the goth, and the band geek; the Jennifer Lawrence and the Anne Hathaway. Of course, controversies will occur as they do, but someone won’t, and shouldn’t, get crucified over nothing. We aren’t well-known figures like them, but everyone has come across rumors and perceptions of themselves that just don’t seem to make sense. You can’t judge a book by its cover; so if you find yourself spending a great deal of time creating assumptions about someone, it’s time to stop and look within. You can’t expect everyone to have thick skin, but you can move forward with empathy, understanding, and respect. Patriots Player Rescues 71-Year-Old Woman From Vicious Assault

One NFL player's biggest moment came far away from the field, but counted for much more.Foul play Justin Herron is not your average civilian. At a hulking 6'5" and 305 pounds, he is an offensive lineman recently drafted by the New England Patriots football team. One morning, he was training for his second season at Kiwanis Park in Tempe Arizona when he heard a woman screaming for help.As he approached the commotion, he saw a man forcing himself on a woman in broad daylight. He couldn't believe his eyes. "You see it in movies and TV all the time but you never think it would happen in real life until it does. In that moment, I was in shock"- Justin Herron His clutch play Herron's instincts immediately kicked in, he explained to CBSN Boston."I just knew that in that moment I had to go and had to put a stop to it"- Justin HerronDespite his adrenaline rushing, Herron was remarkably mindful of not hurting the man. "I'm a football player, I'm kind of big," Herron told the Arizona Republic."I try not to be too aggressive with people knowing I could potentially hurt somebody. I do have a loud voice. I yelled, told him to get off of her, and then yanked him off and I told him to sit down and I told him to wait until the cops come."Meanwhile, Herron helped take the 71-year-old victim away from the scene "to begin the healing process."Honored Police quickly arrived on the scene and arrested 30-year-old Kevin Caballero. He was charged with kidnapping and attempt to commit sexual assault. In honor of his bravery, the Tempe police department awarded Herron the Outstanding Citizen certificate. However, Herron is quick to downplay any hero talk."There are so many heroes that go unnoticed on a daily basis. I was just doing what anyone else would do in that moment"- Justin HerronSee something, do somethingHerron hopes that his experience sends a clear message to everyone, and that the event reminded him of a valuable lesson he learned long before joining the Patriots. "My parents always talked to me about it, if there's someone in need, make sure you can help them and be the best you can be."- Justin Herron You don't need Herron's athletic pedigree to make a difference. Instead, trust your natural instincts when it comes to stepping in and impacting others positively however you can. What Prince Philip's Traumatic Childhood Tells Us About The Kind Of Man He Really Was

Prince Philip may be known to fans of The Crown as the patriarch of the family but his own history was one of tragic loss – and having no family of his own for much of his childhood and young adult years. The longest-serving British consort in history passed away peacefully at 99 on April 9, 2021. His commitment to the Queen and royal family was unwavering, but you might be surprised to know he had quite a turbulent upbringing himself. Determined not to repeat the past, here's how he overcame childhood abandonment and became a rock for those around him. He wasn't born into British royalty Prince Philip was born into royalty – but not British royalty. He was a Greek prince. His parents were Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg, and at the time of his birth, Philip was sixth in line to the Greek throne. He had lots in common with his future bride, then-princess Elizabeth. They were both children of younger siblings of monarchs. But their lives took very different turns. A turbulent childhood"Whereas the Queen experienced a very close-knit and happy family life—apart from the Abdication in 1936 when she was 10—Philip’s childhood was far more turbulent," Philip Eade, author of Young Prince Philip, told Town & Country.Philip’s family was forced to flee their country, and relocated to Paris, where he spent very little time with his parents in his early years. His mother had a nervous breakdown and spent some time in a sanatorium, his sisters were married off to aristocrats, and his father relocated to the south of France. He was very much alone. He had no one to care for him and ended up in the care of his mother’s extended family – the Mountbattens, who had ties to British royalty. Meeting Queen Elizabeth That’s how Philip ended up going to school in England, and ultimately, what led to him meeting the Queen (back when she was a teenager, and a princess!). While Philip and then-Princess Elizabeth were actually distantly related themselves (they share a great-great grandmother, Queen Victoria), they were instantly smitten and wrote letters for years before officially embarking on a relationship, and later, a marriage. They stayed together for 73 years. What he lacked in family growing up, he put into being the patriarch of the most famous family in the world through several tragedies and scandals. Overcoming childhood circumstancesHe overcame his childhood abandonment and the breakup of his own family and became a parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent. He was also one of the most recognizable and beloved figures of the royal family, from his tough no-nonsense exterior to his legendary sense of humor. While Prince Philip was born into privilege, he didn't come from a loving home. His legacy is a reminder that no matter our upbringing, we can do our best to make different choices for ourselves and avoid repeating history with our own family. And we can choose to give the love we were deprived of. Why We Need To Talk About Sports Illustrated's First Asian Curve Model

Yumi Nu recently made history as the first Asian curve model in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. Yes, she grew up feeling insecure about her weight. Yes, it means something in terms of body positivity and inclusivity that she's breaking through barriers in her industry. But when chatting about these news, she also used the opportunity to speak out about profound issues people are struggling with right now, offering a refreshing take on topics ranging from social media burnout to Anti-Asian racism. Using her voice to inspire changeIn an interview with People magazine, Nu touched on her relationship with social media, and how she’s had to deal with the negativity often found online, but how at the same time, social media can be an amazing teacher and so useful. “I'll always have my hard days with it,” Nu shared, “It's an incredible tool and teacher in some ways, but can also be extremely draining.”How did she learn to love herself when it's so easy to find reasons not to by logging onto Instagram? In 2016, she went to Hawaii to visit her family, and she had a turning point and decided to enjoy the getaway -- and her life moving forward-- instead of worrying about not being stick thin and feeling ashamed. "I had this moment where I decided I didn’t want to look back and hate myself because I didn’t go in the ocean. I was so embarrassed. I never lived life fully. I never wore what I wanted to wear. I never actually felt free because I thought, 'I’ll just wear bathing suits when I’m a certain size." Or, "I’ll go in the water without insecurities when I’m a certain weight.' There were all these thresholds that I could never reach."- Yumi Nu told L'Officiel Shared sufferingNu also spoke about the fact that, in the era of the pandemic, people are sensitive to the kind of energy they are exposed to and the content they consume. “If I start comparing myself to others too much or I'm just feeling low from being on my phone 24/7, I like to take a break to do guided meditations or go on a nice walk. It's so important to connect with our body, mind and spirit,” Nu said. The conversation turned to the terrible rise in Anti-Asian violence, and what Nu is feeling right now about the crisis. She didn't shy away from sharing her opinions. “The Asian community isn't always a loud one,” said Nu. “Our society's view of Asians in the model minority myth lens has silenced us for many years,” she said. This is why Nu believes that it’s extra important now, and always was important, for Asian people to be heard and supported. “The division and racism in our world has gotten so bad; we've grown so far from love and connection. I want to create a space for people to feel heard and safe. That's my purpose on this earth,” said Nu.Using her platform to educate and encourage others Nu shared that she is “heavy-hearted” to see the terrible rise in violence against Asian people “who look like they could be my family members,” but she saw some positivity in the sadness –hope in seeing so many people coming together to support. “I encourage people to donate to AAPI funds and volunteer where they can, but the best thing they can do is listen. People want to be heard. Ask your Asian friends how you can show up for them,” she said. It's refreshing to see Nu use her newfound spot in the limelight to tackle hard, current topics head-on while also sharing a message of hope and unity for the future.
