Here's How Beyonce and Jay-Z's Over-The-Top $200 Million Home Purchase Generates $11 Million For The Homeless

Music power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce recently made history when they spent $200 million on their new home. The mega-mansion is located in Malibu and quickly swept the headlines as being the most expensive home to ever sell in California, according to TMZ. In an interesting twist, it was revealed that a real estate tax law in the state translates to a sizeable percentage of the purchase price being donated to the homeless.Beyonce & Jay-Z's Expensive — But Helpful — MansionBeyonce and Jay-Z’s luxurious home is 40,000 square feet and sits on eight acres of property. It’s an L-shaped compound made of concrete that was purchased from William Bell Jr., one of the largest art collectors in the world.MORE: Why Brad Pitt Let a 105-Year-Old Man Live In His House Free for YearsThe architecture of the home pales in comparison only to the breathtaking views. The mansion is perched atop the Malibu cliffs and overlooks the Pacific Ocean in the exclusive Paradise Cove enclave. Floor-to-ceiling glass panels inside the home allow the couple to enjoy the spectacular view without ever having to step foot outside, according to TMZ.The property’s historical relevance The mansion now owned by Beyonce and Jay-Z also happens to be the second-most-expensive home to sell in the nation, according to TMZ. The value of the property is linked to the historical relevance of the home.It was designed by a highly esteemed Japanese architect named Tadao Ando. His jaw-dropping style was also appreciated by Kanye West who hired Tadao to create his oceanfront home.Beyonce and Jay-Z’s home was immaculately crafted and took nearly 15 years to construct. In spite of the very expensive price tag attached to this home purchase, the famous couple snagged a good deal. It was originally listed for $295 million.A home indulgence results in funding for the homelessBeyonce and Jay-Z’s home boasts all the amenities one would imagine from a residence of this caliber. It also happened to open doors for the homeless community in the local area. The historic real-estate purchase may have been a personal indulgence for the very wealthy couple, but it will also lead to housing opportunities for the less fortunate, according to Fox 22 News.Los Angeles County recently introduced a new tax called the “mansion tax,” which that specifies a 4% charge will be added to properties that sell for $5 million or more. The levy increases to 5.5% if the property sells for $10 million or more.In this particular case, the tax fee will result in at least $11 million. This total value will be applied to people struggling in the Los Angeles area.Affordable housing and homelessness programs in the County will benefit from the $11 million in funding, which is a huge boost to the current issues with homelessness in the area. Out of reach for mostMega–mansions like this one live in the dreams of average citizens across the globe. The luxurious compound purchased by Jay-Z and Beyonce isn’t relatable to most working citizens and seems completely out of range.Putting it all into context, the couple’s combined net worth is estimated to be $2.5 billion, according to Celebrity Net Worth. At some point, they dreamt of becoming stars in the music industry, aimed to reach billionaire status, and also likely never imagined they’d be as successful as they are today. Their historical purchase is now making dreams come true for less fortunate people that once dreamt of simply having somewhere safe to rest their heads at night.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé Drop Surprise Album, Show Power of Enduring Love and Remind Us Relationships Take Work

When a relationship gets rocky, some couples try to work it out. Others go to therapy. Jay-Z and Beyoncé make incredible music together. On Saturday, the power couple dropped a surprise album, 'Everything is Love' – and it's a reminder that they are the ultimate #relationshipgoals. Marriage trilogy The album is the third in a marriage trilogy of sorts. On Beyoncé's critically-acclaimed album 'Lemonade,' she hinted that Jay-Z cheated on her. On '4:44,' Hova confirmed that he had in fact been unfaithful, but he was begging for forgiveness. That brings us to 'Everything is Love,' which is a testament to the fact that with hard work and understanding, it is possible to work things out. Stronger than ever In songs like 'Lovehappy,' they appear to be stronger than ever. Here's a lyric from the end of the song (via Variety): “Sometimes I thought we’d never see the light/ Went through hell with heaven on our side." Beyonce sings. "Damn, look at us now/ Pray, pray for the vows/ Way up now, yes, and a way, long way down/ We came, and we saw, and we conquered it all/ We came, and we conquered, now we’re happy in love.” Family is stronger, too On one track, the couple's six-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, shouts out the newest members to the family, Rumi and Sir. "Shout out to Rumi and Sir, love Blue," she says at the end of the song 'Boss.' Everything IS love 'Everything is Love' is nine tracks long, tallying a brief 40 minutes and is available only on Tidal. There's also a music video for "Ape S**t," which was shot in May at the Louvre in Paris. Because of course it was.

Hero of the Week: Jay-Z Disrupts His Concert to Empower a 9-Year-Old Fan

Jay-Z stopped his concert in Cleveland, Ohio last week, when he spotted a 9-year-old fan in the audience. The spontaneous conversation encouraging the young girl to believe in herself sparked overwhelming support by the crowd. “At this very moment, America is way more sexist than they are racist,” he said. “But you, young lady, you got the potential to be the next president of the United States. You believe that.” You can catch the viral moment here: Many consider Jay-Z’s new album 4:44 to be a response to Beyoncé’s Lemonade. The album, released earlier this year, appears to be one of his most personal and emotional yet. Many of the singles carry introspective themes on hip-hop culture, black culture, and his relationship with Beyoncé. The single "4:44" is an open-apology to Beyoncé and his children. Jay-Z also reveals family secrets in his single “Smile,” about his mother being attracted to women. In the last few years, Jay-Z has been very vocal about the inequality women face, re-examining how his own career has contributed to that narrative. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Jay-Z shares some sobering words about the lyrics in his 1999 single, “Big Pimpin”. “It was like, I can’t believe I said that. And kept saying it. What kind of animal would say this sort of thing? Reading it is really harsh.” Now, however, it's clear that this father of three is doing his best to spread the only thing that matters, and that is, “love will always trump hate”. Jay-Z: Trust Yourself

Jay-Z - Believe in Yourself Jay-Z talks about his unsteady beginnings as a performer, and says the most important thing is to never let others undermine your belief in yourself. Transcript: "I was a terrible live performer in the beginning. My first show, I forgot the lyrics. You have to have such a strong belief in yourself that you can quiet out all the outside noise because you're going to need that on every step of the way. There are people that are projecting their fears and their shortcomings and failures on you. You have to be very careful with that. People telling you you can't do that. Why can't I? Because they may have tried or they don't believe that they can do it. It's not really about you. It's about what they feel and their fear inside. You have to be strong enough and resilient to believe in whatever it is you're trying to do. Good luck with it."
