5 Life Changing Tricks To Get Better Grades

So, the exams are coming soon. You are a bit anxious. Well, maybe very anxious. Last time you had an exam, you planned everything perfectly. You studied countless hours everyday. You did all the exercises, sometimes twice. However, you were still not happy with the result you got, because you feel like it did not reflect the amount of time and effort you put in. So what’s up? How can you study so many hours and still fail? Some of your friends might've studied less for the same results. So you might ask yourself. Am I stupid? Maybe I’m not cut off for this? Last year, I was so much better; why am I so lame this year? Well, here are a few life changing tricks you can use to get the marks you deserve.

5 Life Changing Tricks To Get Better Grades

1. Be honest about cheating

When you study, ask yourself these questions. When I do exercises, how much does it help me? Do I peek at the answers way to often? Do I ask for a friend’s help too quickly? Does the teacher give me a hint every time I cannot go through a problem? Well, if you answered yes to any of these questions, you might be cheating a little. You may be studying 50 hours for an exam, but if you cannot get through problems on your own, you will have a hard time doing so during exam time. So try not to take any shortcuts. I'm not saying it'll be easy, but try to be a little more independent and you will most definitely see results on your next exam.

2. Don’t lie to yourself

Let’s say you study from 6pm to 1am, you might think that you've been studying for 7 hours straight. But come on, don’t lie to yourself. If during that time you had supper and watched an episode of How I Met Your Mother, then “asked a few questions” on Snapchat, you probably did not study 7 hours. To make better use of your time, be honest with yourself. Try to keep track of your time. If you have a hard time doing so, hit the following links to read our articles on how to stop procrastinating, and how to make better use of your time.

3. Listen More, Study Less

By being more focused in class, chances are you will have to study less to get the same grade. When you're in class, think of it as a time to absorb as much information as you can. If you feel like when you take notes you don’t listen anymore, stop taking so many notes! Try to listen. I know it sounds scary. But trying it one time won’t hurt you. Actually, the best way to make better use of your time in class is to prepare before you attend. Yes, you will have to read the course material in advance, but then, you won’t have to take so many notes. Of course, you need discipline, but if you're reading this, chances are you want better grades right? Try it a few times should see the results pretty soon!

4. Motivate Yourself

Motivation plays a great role in success. And let’s be honest, not all teacher are necessarily the best motivators. But you have to stop giving yourself excuses. You have the power to motivate yourself. No one will do it for you. If you hate a subject, try to read about it online. Try to relate it to things you like in life. Try to fake liking it until you actually get interested. Everything can be interesting. Give yourself a chance, and the subject you hate might become little more interesting. Do this and you will most certainly get better grades.

5. Stay positive

Lastly, don’t stay in the past by thinking about your past results. Instead, you should think about what’s coming ahead. Make the choice today, and visualize the great results you will have in the future. Don't give up, and don’t let bad experiences put you down.

If you've been studying a certain way without any success, chances are that by doing the same thing, you will get the same results. So, what do you have to lose? Try these new life changing tricks to get better grades and let us know how they work out for you.
