Eminem's Daughter Is Nothing Like Him--And He Couldn't Be More Proud

Eminem has always been a proud dad, but now that his daughter is all grown up, he has even more reasons to brag about her.

With a truly impressive music career spanning over two decades, Eminem has built his success by openly sharing his struggles and life experiences through unique lyrics.

If you’ve ever listened to some of his music, it’s impossible to not know that he has a daughter named Hailie, whom he constantly praises in his songs, but who has never really been exposed to the public eye. At least not the way other celebrity children are.

At the age of 47, the controversial yet inspiring and incredibly motivational rapper is now proud to see his daughter blossoming and living a down to earth life. In spite of his many career accomplishments, Eminem states that being a father is his biggest achievement.

Feeling old yet?

Hailie Jade Scott is now 24 and that may come as a shock to some of you. That’s because when it comes to celebrity children, we’re used to seeing them grow up under our eyes. However, this wasn’t the case with Eminem’s daughter. There’s a huge gap between the times we saw a sweet little girl in her father’s music videos and now.

We’re all familiar with some of the effects that a parent’s fame can have on their children development. Some end up to be total disasters, while others manage to be stable and grounded. It’s easy to understand why being raised in the public eye would affect a child’s behavior and future relationships. Hailie is one of the famous kids who grew up surrounded by media scandals debating her parents’ personal conflicts. We can only imagine how tough that should’ve been.

Eminem’s

relationship with Hailie’s mother

Eminem met Kimberly Anne Scott back in high school when she was only 13 years old. Their friendship rapidly turned into a romantic relationship that ended up having quite an impact on the rapper’s life and music career.

At her son’s request, Debbie Nelson

allowed Kim (as she was dealing with her own family drama) to move indefinitely

in their house as a member of the family. For the next few years they formed a

couple who used to fight a lot, but would always get back together.

At some point, Eminem started seeing another girl, but soon Kim came up with a news that would change his life forever -- she was pregnant.

The two reconciled but broke up again less than a year after Hailie was born. Kim moved into a one-bedroom apartment with her daughter and Eminem spent the next few years working at a dream that would eventually turn into one of the greatest careers in rap history.

To sum up, during the three decades they’ve known each other, Eminem and Kim experienced a lot of personal and familial tragedy (drug addiction, separations, suicide attempts, arrests), and got married and divorced twice.

Eminem’s love for his daughter

In the meantime, Hailie’s time was split between her parents. While Eminem was not always able to be close to his daughter, he definitely reassured her that she is always on his mind -- Hailie is mentioned in over 20 of her father’s songs.

Hailie I know you miss your mom and I know you miss your dad/ Well I'm gone but I'm trying to give you the life that I never had.

Mockingbird, 2004

It’s obvious that the rapper did everything he could to provide for his little girl, but sadly he didn’t manage to protect her from witnessing the tumultuous relationship he had with her mother. Still, unlike his own father, who abandoned him before he even got the chance to meet him, Eminem remained in his Hailie’s life and maintained a healthy father-daughter relationship.

Just being there. Not missing things. If there's anything important going on, regardless of what it is, I'm there.

Eminem to Rolling Stone Magazine

A proud father

Setting all the drama aside, Kim and Eminem did a pretty good job in raising their girl. Hailie is now beautiful young lady ready to make a name for herself. With a psychology degree under her belt, a 3.9 GPA and two million followers living for her fashion and workout tips, she has become a successful influencer who publicly expressed her gratitude for her parents’ support.

My mother and father have pushed me to be the person I am and have given me all the support to achieve what I have.

Hailie Jade Scott Mathers, according to Daily News

While she may have had a rocky childhood, Hailie grew up to be the opposite of her father and is forging her own path. In school she was quite popular and got amazing grades. She stays off unhealthy habits and has been in a stable relationship since 2016, proving that while environment is important in shaping a person, you still have a choice.

Fatherhood, his biggest accomplishment to date

Eminem has every reason to be proud of his girl -- everything that she is now is almost like a redemption arc that he achieved through her. The two keep a close relationship and the rapper is just as supportive and protective as he was when he wrote Mockingbird’s lyrics.

She’s doing good, she’s made me proud for sure. She graduated from college […] When I think about my accomplishments, like that’s probably the thing I’m the most proud of – being able to raise kids.

Eminem to Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson

It’s quite endearing to still see the soft side of the real Slim Shady when it comes to his daughter, as he never misses a chance to talk about how blessed he is to have her.

Eminem proves that despite a troubled upbringing, and a past filled with turmoil, you can still manage to be a good parent and raise your child in the best way possible.
