Demi Lovato Fans Launch #HowDemiHasHelpedMe Twitter Movement – And Their Stories Will Make You Cry
Demi Lovato has long had her struggles with substance abuse and mental health and she’s allowed her fans to be part of her journey to recovery, sharing her ups and downs along the way.
We knew that she recently had suffered a sobriety setback, which she even wrote a song about, and this week suffered an apparent drug overdose. While Demi is going through this very rough time, we feel for her tremendously. Her fans do as well, and are sharing their own personal stories and Lovato has helped them overcome their hardships.
Since Demi’s hospitalization, the hashtag #HowDemiHasHelpedMe has been trending on Twitter. These tweets are powerful, sharing how real people overcame all sorts of issues and struggles, from depression to addiction and body confidence.
#HowDemiHasHelpedMe when I was at the worst part of my life and I just wanted to give up completely, Demi’s speeches and music and book just kept me going and helped me be able to finally ask for help. I just recently passed 5 years clean and I credit that partially to her. ❤️

Her music helped me realized that it was okay to be broken. Her being honest about her problems helped me see I could be something other then a mental illness. I love you Demi— Lexi Galvan (@princessofsinss) July 25, 2018
She helped me ask for help. Her music has been there with me in waiting rooms before counselling, her music has been there for me in all my hospital stays. She has been there for me in my dark times and I am so grateful for her #HowDemiHasHelpedMe

#HowDemiHasHelpedMe she taught me through her song "Warrior" that our most painful moments make us stronger and more self-conscious, which is great when I'm insecure about my appearance or my bad feelings. The struggles are still there though "I got thicker skin"
