The X-Men actress and the Saturday Night Live comedian have known each other for nearly a decade but weren't romantically involved until May 2021. But Olivia Munn and John Mulaney kept their relationship low-key at first since they started dating shortly after he ended his marriage with his wife of six years, Anna Marie Tendler.

John Mulaney Divorces His Wife of Six Years
A month after completing his rehab, John’s rep announced that he decided to divorce his wife, Anna Marie Tendler.
The comedian didn’t want to release a public statement at the time, but his former wife did. Heartbroken, she wished him “support and success” in his battle with addiction.
Only a few days after Mulaney and Tendler broke up, reports confirmed that he and Munn were dating. Evidently, the news wasn’t very well received by some and Munn said that she doesn’t want to address the speculative chatter. She later stated that she is trying to stay away from criticism and commentaries that are simply not true.

In an interview with LA Times, Munn addressed the backlash she received for jumping into a relationship with Mulaney so soon after his separation from Anne Marie. The actress said: “They think they know our relationship so well, when in reality, they don’t. There’s no way anyone could know what any of his relationships were or what our relationship is.”

In November 2021, the happy couple welcomed a baby boy, but officially announced his arrival in a post on Christmas Eve via Instagram. John wrote in his caption: “Meet Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney. He has his whole life ahead of him. He hasn’t even tried seltzer yet. I’m very in love with him and his whole deal. Happy Holidays.”
Referring to his recovery, Mulaney has also discussed the positive impact of his relationship with Munn and his son, Malcolm, "Olivia and this baby have helped save me from myself in this early journey out of recovery."

The comedian couldn’t have had a lovelier way of celebrating his 40th birthday. At only 9 months, his son Malcolm surprised John by singing Happy Birthday to You with the whole crowd. Mulaney later wrote in an Instagram post, "There is truly no better way to turn 40."

Not long after Mulaney publicly declared his love for Munn, rumors that their relationship has been imperfect from the get-go started to appear.

The insiders have also declared that the couple experience a time of uncertainty and they still have to decide on how they’re going to further approach their relationship.
