Teens Notice Attractive Woman Whisper 2 Words From the Car Next to Them - Immediately Realize Something Is Wrong

Texas teenagers Aaron Arias and Jamal Harris are downright heroes. You never know who you might notice in the car next to you when you’re cruising along or waiting at a stoplight. Sure, it’s not exactly the best place or time to get to know someone, so we often take a quick glance and then go about our busy days. But sometimes, noticing the smallest of details can make a world of difference in someone else’s life.Teens Notice a Woman Mouthing “Help Me” From the Car Next to ThemBack in August 2013, 19-year-old Aaron Arias and his 17-year-old friend Jamal Harris were driving in downtown Dallas to pick up a friend from work when they noticed an attractive girl in the backseat of the car next to them. Not being the one in the driver’s seat, Jamal’s gaze lingered a little longer than Aaron’s, and he realized the girl was mouthing something: “Help me.”At first, Arias thought his friend was joking, but then they saw the driver’s face, looked back, and realized it was for real. So they got focused and called 911."Yes, I'm on the highway. I'm witnessing a robbery. Not a robbery, a kidnapping,” Arias explained on the call, which was later released and picked up by several news outlets. “It's me and another guy. So we're checking out the girl in the backseat because, we're like, 'Okay, she's kind of attractive,' and then all of a sudden the guy is turned back, looking at us,” he continued. We looked in the backseat and the blonde female in the back was saying, 'Help me' or something, whispering it. So I'm assuming it is a kidnapping.Aaron AriasAccording to NBC DWF, Arias and Harris followed the guy for nearly an hour while they stayed on the phone with responders. Eventually, the driver realized he was being followed and he started acting erratically. He sped up, slowed down, and tried to lose the guys, but finally the police arrived."Thank God. You guys are awesome," Arias said in the recording as the man started to flee. "Oh my God. Oh my God. Get him! Oh my God."Arias Calls 911 and the Woman Is Rescued by Police After a ChaseFollowing a small chase, authorities arrested a man named Charles Atkins Lewis Jr. who was charged with aggravated kidnapping and held on a $50,000 bail. According to The Dallas Morning News, the unidentified, 25-year-old woman had been at a young professionals party downtown. It was about 11 p.m. when she was walking to her car and was struck on the head three times with what she believed was a handgun. The man then forced her into the backseat of her car. Police later found a handgun and a knife, and in an affidavit, the woman told investigators she was fearful of sexual assault and death. So it’s no surprise that when she was rescued from the car she ran straight towards the two teens who had ensured her safety, and gave them a giant hug. "I would describe it as the best hug I have ever gotten,” Arias later told NBC DFW, adding that he would like to stay in contact with the woman, but he also didn’t want to interfere with the investigation.Arias and Harris’ Instincts and Quick-Thinking Saved a Woman’s LifeThankfully, because of two teen heroes and the quick thinking of the woman in the backseat, this story had a happy ending. It certainly highlights the importance of trying to communicate your situation to those around you in a time of danger, but it also reminds us that if you see someone asking for help, you should always take them seriously. If you can’t physically help a person yourself or the situation is too dangerous, calling 911 is always the best option. In this case, it may very well have saved this woman’s life. It’s also important to educate young adults and children on what to do and how to react if and when they ever find themselves in that kind of horrific situation. Because as much as we’d all like to think it could never happen, you really never know when you may witness (or be the victim) in a similar scenario.More from Goalcast:Man Lures 5-Year-Old With Ice-Cream and Kidnaps Her – But 2 Teens on Bikes Take Matters Into Their Own HandsStranger Meets Woman at Gas Station and Kidnaps Her – After Nearly a Year, Her Quick-Thinking Saves Her LifeMan Calls Cops and Claims to Be Kidnapped – When the Officer Arrives at the Scene, He Finds Something Completely Different

Active Shooter Opens Fire Into Crowd, Man Acts On Instinct And Shields Girlfriend To Save Her Life

It was a hellish 32 seconds that the residents in Dayton Ohio will never forget. 24-year-old Connor Betts opened fire into the crowded Oregon District with an AR-15-style assault rifle, killing 9 and wounding 27 more. In the mix was Camryn Crowder and his girlfriend Brittany Dungey. They became new parents just three weeks prior, and it was their first night out since the birth of their baby. They were walking down the street when shots rang out. Recalling the carnage, Crowder told CBS news that he feared the worst. "I saw people getting hit. I literally saw them fall…" Crowder said. "I was certain that I was going to be next in line, really, at some point," he said. I was pretty nervous. I mean, I thought for sure that it was gonna be my last day really being alive- Camryn CrowderHe sacrificed himself for her With bullets flying by and bodies falling, Crowder had only one thing on his mind: Protecting his girlfriend and mother of his child. "It was really about me getting her out of the way," he said. "Making sure that she was safe." Footage captured Crowder quickly taking Dungey to the floor, staying atop her to shield her from the gunfire as he moved them to cover. Speaking with Inside Edition, Dungey says that she too was certain their time was up. "In that moment i thought that we were going to die. I fell down so fast, I thought I got shot," she recalled. Fortunately for the couple, both came out alive. "I mean, I was just one of the lucky ones," said Crowder. Love is sacrificeYou don't have to remind Dungey of how lucky she is to have her boyfriend. He's the best boyfriend in the world. He's the absolute best, and has a big heart and now everyone can finally see that.- Brittany DungeyMost of us aren't trained for how to react and protect our loved ones during a mass shooting. It's often pure luck, and the victims of that awful day will never be forgotten. In those times, the only chance of survival is often pure luck or pure instinct. Some of those instincts are forged through the bonds built and love shared with them. Faced with a nightmare threat, Camryn Crowder drew on his instinctual love for his girlfriend and narrowly escaped to share their story.More uplifting stories:Woman Marries Man Who Saved Her Life At The Vegas Mass ShootingPregnant Woman Wakes Up From Coronavirus Coma To Discover She Had Delivered Her BabyMan Writes Touching Note To Hospital Staff Who Saved His Wife’s LifeDomestic Abuse Survivor Marries The First Responder Who Saved Her Life

Toddler Walks Into Traffic, Food Delivery Worker Saves His Life And Delivers Lesson To All Parents

One brave food-delivering father of four risked it all to save a child running into dire danger. Baby in dangerIt's every parent's worst nightmare: Their child running across a wide busy street, with traffic whizzing by in both directions. That was the danger one two-year-old child was in on one California night in Van Nuys. The only difference here: His parents were nowhere in sight. He was in the right place, right timeMeanwhile, delivery driver Gerson Tavares happened to be completing his last food delivery when he drove by. He spotted the tot running across lanes -- in just a shirt and diaper -- on Burbank Boulevard. The child was headed towards oncoming traffic, which included a pickup truck. The boy was distracted by a game tablet he was holding and wasn't looking. That's when Tavares, himself a father of four, swung into action. He immediately stopped his car in traffic and ran after the boy, waving his arms to warn oncoming drivers. When the coast was clear, he scooped up the child and brought him to safety. Tavares got emotional when recounting that moment to Inside Edition. I got the boy in my arms. Thank you, God.- Gerson TavaresOutrage at the parentsIt's not clear how the boy ended up in the middle of the street, and it left video commenters fuming.“As a parent, we’ve all had those moments where we weren’t at our best. But I’m not sure how you can explain this. Middle of the night? Kid running in the middle of the highway in a diaper? Hard to explain, but I’d love to hear the parent’s excuse,” said one.Another was less sympathetic. "I understand that as a parent it’s easy for a kid to wander off in a blink of an eye. But this seems more than a dangerous mistake, this appears beyond irresponsible.”Los Angeles Police have located the boy’s guardians and said that the Department of Child and Family Services will look into the incident.Heroism is an instinct In a joint interview wit his father, Tavares' son son Igor said that he couldn't be prouder of his pops. "You were the right guy at the right place, doing the right thing,” he told his father. He added that he wouldn't expect anything less from him. And for me, what makes me more proud of him was how quick he acted, with like fast reaction. Just the way I expect my dad to be. You know. My hero. I love this guy.- Igor TavaresMeanwhile, his dad's quick to pass the credit up.“I’m not the hero,” Tavares said, " God is the hero."Call it divine intervention. Call it fortuitous fortune. Call it plain ol' luck. Whatever it was, it took one amazing individual who reacted on a moment's notice, putting his safety aside to make sure one kid has a future. Woman Narrowly Escapes Violent Assault By Using Clever Phone Tactic

Under attack and with just seconds to act, one woman escaped a violent assault using a hack that everyone should know.Attacked in broad daylightFor many women, even a simple stroll after dark can be a gauntlet of potential danger, and it's not paranoia: according to one study, 1 in 6 women are the victims of rape or attempted rape in the US throughout their lifetime. However, some predators don't even need the cover of dark. Sergio Valdez spotted a woman walking along the US-301 in Wimauma, Florida and attacked in broad daylight. Per ABC News, he threw her to the ground, choking her and pulling at her pants, saying that she was going to have his baby.Calling 9-1-1Somehow during the struggle, the woman managed to get a hold of her cell phone. She then used a little-known feature available on every cell phone letting you dial 9-1-1 without ever unlocking it. While it varies by brand, the woman's consisted of pressing the screen lock button of her phone five times quickly, which patched her through to emergency personnel.Dispatchers then listened in horror as she struggled through the attack live. Thankfully, they also obtained her GPS coordinates and sent police to the scene immediately. However, when the police arrived, neither was to be found. Apparently, the suspect was distracted by a passing vehicle, enabling the woman to flee. As they were looking for her, authorities found Valdez and arrested him on the spot. According to the report filed, Valdez’s mother had spoken to her son, and claims he had told her that he’d been set up. The victim of the attack, claims Valdez, is actually an ex-girlfriend who is, allegedly, embarrassed that he’s now dating someone else. No other details were given. Know your emergency escapesIt's a scary fact, but from kidnapping to assault, predators don't have set work hours. That means that broad daylight is fair game for them. That also makes it critical to prepare for the worst if the worst shows up unannounced. While some cases will call for improvising, it's important to know how to use the resources you already have. In the woman's case, knowing her cell phone's emergency features might have saved her life. Since the emergency methods vary by make and model, make it a priority to get to know yours, it might be the last line of defense. Held captive in her home by an abusive boyfriend, one mama bear's quick thinking might have saved her and her cubs from the unthinkable.Terror trapOne afternoon noon in Avon Park, Florida, what was usually a happy home to Cheryl Treadway and her three children turned into a terror trap. She had been arguing with boyfriend Ethan Nickerson all day when things took a frightening turn. that's when Nickerson -- hopped up on meth -- took out a knife and began sharpening it in front of her while refusing to let her and her kids leave. Her bold idea workedTreadway tapped into her mom reserves and intuition for an way out. She pled with Nickerson to let her order pizza from the local Pizza Hut using the chain's online app. Remarkably, it worked. With only a small window to act, Treadway ordered a pepperoni pizza along with an urgent request."Please help. Get 911 to me. 911 hostage help!"When the order came in, the staff recognized the name and address as being from a regular customer. The message got their attention. "We've never seen that before," the restaurant's manager, Candy Hamilton, told local station WFLA. I've been here 28 years and never, never seen nothing like that come through.- Candy Hamilton, manager at Pizza HutMeanwhile, Nickerson didn't realize anything was amiss until police arrived. That's when Treadway fled from the house with a baby in her arms and told them that her boyfriend had a knife. After a tense stand-off, Nickerson surrendered. He was taken into custody and deputies safely removed the other two children from the home. Quick-Thinking Dad Trusts His Instinct And Saves Little Girl Snatched By Kidnapper

In a moment's notice, a restaurant owner went from onlooker to hero when he saved a little girl from the clutches of a kidnapper.Terror across the tableMost crazy events start as just a regular day, and this one was no different. CCTV footage captured a woman sitting on the terrace of Bella Napoli pizza restaurant with her four-year-old daughter and another woman. Meanwhile, restaurant owner Dishal Sooku had been sitting next to the family with his father when he alerted him to a man acting suspiciously in the mall. Suddenly, the man raced towards the restaurant. Moments later, he jumped over the terrace rail and grabbed the woman's four-year-old daughter by the neck.Said one eyewitness to the Ridge Times, "It didn’t look like he was trying to take her, he was really trying to hurt her. His eyes were dead."Papa mode engagedIn an instant, Sooku swooped in with only one goal, he told News24."At the time my only thought was 'I need to save this child.'"- Dishal Sooku"The only thing to do was to restrain him in a way that he would let go of the child."Unfortunately for the madman, Sooku had been practicing jujitsu for years and knew exactly how to take the man down. He quickly took him to the floor and detained him until security came. A getaway vehicle reportedly also fled the scene and the suspect is said to be a heavy drug user, reports SA People.Fortunately, the girl was unharmed. A humble heroThe video has since amassed millions of views and has turned Sooku into a hero. According to the Sun, a post with his picture by page SA Long Distance Truckers lauds his actions."Dishal you sir are a hero and a man in a million. Your act of bravery has not gone unnoticed. We wish you all thats good in this world."- Post by SA Long Distance TruckersHowever, Sooku is quick to deflect any hero-talk, instead crediting his martial arts training for being ready." I don't consider myself a hero. People say you're at the right place at the right moment, and it all comes with preparation. I think the years experience in martial arts is what allowed me to react the way that I did.For Sooku, the girl's safety is reward enough."I just with her all the best and I'm glad I could have done what I did," he said. Staying alert is staying safeSooku can say what he wants, but he definitely deserves all the praise he's received. If Sooku wasn't there, who knows what the title of this piece would be.However, it's a reminder that not all danger takes place after dark. The scariest part about this was it took place in a crowded mall in broad daylight. Whether it's at the park or going to school, a child's path through life is only as safe as we make it. Like one brave man showed us, we can all contribute to keeping our children safe.More uplifting stories:This Woman Trusted Her Instincts And Saved A Little Girl From Being AbductedPoor Man Who Missed Job Interview To Save A Life Had Employers Lining Up To Hire HimYoung Man Saves Girl From Attempted Kidnapping At RestaurantBrooklyn Landlord Cancels Rent For Hundreds Of Tenants, Setting An Unprecedented Example For Others

Heroic Carnival-Goer Saves Lives After Magic Carpet Ride Spins Out Of Control

Despite looking rusty and rickety, carnival rides are usually safe — but apparently not always. One malfunctioning ride drove its riders to tears, but thankfully, a group of festival-goers teamed up to stop the ride and save the day.Shaking out of controlIt was a sight that made someone taking a video of the incident shake in fear. A 'Magic Carpet' carnival ride at the National Cherry Festival in Grand Traverse County, Michigan, started to shake out of control like it was going to tip over. The shaking was so bad that a fence surrounding it appeared to fall over. According to local publication Up North Live, a member of their own staff, Trevor Drew, was on the ride and explained what it felt like."The ride goes, and I guess it's kind of hard to tell once you're in the air,” Drew said. “I could tell it was a lot more violent and seemed a little more shaky."A witness on the ground, Joy Ogemaw, saw it from the ground and told the publication what it looked like."I just heard like a really loud bang and then I looked up, and it was like right in front of me,” she said. "It was like scraping, and then it started going faster, because it wasn't stopping them started going faster, and then it started like rocking a little bit back and forth and then it started like going more and then like, it was to the point where the base of it was like leaning way back and I was like, that looks like it's about to like fall back into the river right now and I was like, it was just, I cannot believe what I was seeing."Heroes jump in to save the dayAccording to its website, the National Cherry Festival began in 1926 and attracts over 500,000 people over eight days. The festival is so popular that President Joe Biden was there earlier this month. But this wasn't the festival's sweetest moment. Before the ride swayed back and forth for long, a quick-thinking carnival-goer on the ground ran to its base to hold it in place. Then, others followed."Once it started to slow down a little bit more than a bunch of people like grabbed onto the rail, and then they were trying to like hold it down and there's probably like 25 people that are trying to like hold the rail down, and then it started like slowing down,” Ogemaw told Up North Live.As seen in a video taken by a witness, the ride began to slow down, though it didn't come to a full stop until the heroes on the ground jumped in and slowed it themselves. The ride was taken away and investigated"Just goes to show you what type of people live here in Traverse City, that they without even a second thought will go right over and do whatever they need to, you know for one of their own, and we think it's remarkable that they were willing to help you know keeping themselves safe on the outside, but doing whatever they could do, to slow the right to stop the ride,” said Joe Evans of the company that owns the ride, Arnold Amusement, to Up North Live. “Unfortunately that ride the way that is designed, it doesn't stop on a dime, you can't just hit a break in it instantly stop, it has to come down, you know, and unfortunately, swing back and forth you know until it comes to situations like this."Evans added that the ride was immediately removed and an investigation is underway."Obviously there was a malfunction. We don't know as of yet what it was. The ride has been dismantled. It is gone and it is on its way back to the factory, the company that makes it is in Ohio, and it's on its way down there for them to figure out what happened," he explained. "Was it a malfunction? Was a computer glitch? We don't know. We're just not sure what it was."Don't underestimate the power of humans working togetherIt's uncomfortable to imagine what it must have been like for those on the ride while it was shaking out of control. Heck, it's hard to imagine being on the ground watching it happen. But a potential disaster was transformed into a heartwarming story of the power of strangers working together instead. And that right there is worthy of renewing our faith in humanity. Quick-Thinking Woman Acts Like Girl's Mother To Stop Kidnapping Attempt

One fast-acting woman used her wits to rescue a girl from the clutches of a terrifying kidnapper. School scare 12-year-old Amy Martinez of Los Angeles was on her way to Lathrop Intermediate School when a woman grabbed her out of nowhere and started dragging her down the street, telling the girl to keep quiet. The young girl recalled to NBC Los Angeles that she feared the worst."I thought I wouldn't see my mom or my dad again. She was saying that the demons are coming, Satan is here"- Amy MartinezDespite Martinez screaming at the woman to let go of her, her assailant wouldn't stop. Rescue rideThat's when police say Martinez's angel on wheels appeared. The woman -- who wished to remain anonymous -- was driving back from dropping her kids off at school when she noticed the girl struggling with the suspect. She remembered the girl's terrified look clearly. "I'll never forget the way she looked at me. Her eyes were screaming for help"- Anonymous heroThere was not much time to act. "She said she had, in her mind, five seconds to come up with something to save this child," said police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna. That's when the woman made a brilliantly brave move. She circled back, stopped her car and asked the girl if she was okay. When she shook her head no, the woman said to the suspect 'That's my child, give her back to me.' After three attempts, the suspect released the girl. The good samaritan then drove Martinez safely to school and called the police. Police ultimately arrested the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Claudia Hernandez Diazon on suspicion of kidnapping a child under the age of 14.Community is familyWhen asked about her rescuer, Martinez was nothing but grateful. "I want to say thank you for saving my life, and you’re my hero"- Amy Martinez Meanwhile, her mother, shaken from the scare, said that from now on a relative will be driving her little girl to school everyday. Cpl. Bertagna says that the anonymous woman truly walked the talk when it came to protecting her community. "We always say if you see something say something. Well, she saw something and did something,'' he said. It's reported that every 40 seconds in the United States, a child either goes missing or is abducted. Another study reports that 38 percent of attempted abductions occurred while a child walks to or from school. While we can't watch our kids 24/7, we can keep an eye on our community like we do our own family, just like this woman did. We would not just avoid tragedy but create a safer, happier world.
